Austin MLS Areas Defined
Austin MLS Areas (or Austin/Central Texas Realty Information Service Area or "ACTRIS Area") are geographic areas defined by the Austin Board of Realtors (ABOR) to assist REALTORS® and the public in their real estate search. Whenever a listing is loaded into the Austin Multiple Listing Service (MLS), an MLS area is automatically assigned to the listing based on the listing's address. A user can then search for all listings in a specific MLS Area, such as Downtown (DT), South (S), Northwest (NW), Lake South (LS), or Cedar Park Leander South (CLS). The Austin MLS also includes regions such as "Central Austin" which are made up of one or more MLS Areas. Austin MLS Areas are either numbers, number/letter combinations, or letters only. Those with numbers or number/letter combinations are MLS Areas in Austin. Those with only letters are abbreviations and the associated area may or may not be in the Austin city limits. See below for definitions of Austin MLS Areas with abbreviations.
