Since its debut in 2007, The Domain has developed into much more than just a shopping center. Apartments, offices, retailers, and restaurants combine to create an enticing “live, work, play” environment that has become increasingly popular in the Austin area. Rock Rose is the latest development in the Domain that brings the atmosphere of downtown Austin to the North Austin area. This project will cover about 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and will include 20 to 30 tenants when complete. Rock Rose has been under construction since mid-2015, and the first tenants began operations in January 2016.
Endeavor Real Estate Group, the developer for the Domain, was determined to fill Rock Rose with local Austin businesses that reflect the eclectic vibe of downtown Austin. Tarka Indian Kitchen was the first business to open in the Rock Rose district earlier this year. Big names in the Austin food and bar scene also opened their doors in Rock Rose in the past three months, including East Side King, The Dogwood, Kung Fu Saloon, and Lavaca Street Bar. New businesses Jack and Ginger’s, St. Genevieve, Two Hands Coffee, and Mia Tapas Bar, have recently made their debut in the district. Tenants in Rock Rose have full creative license when it comes to the inside and outside look of their location, which further enhances the unique atmosphere of the district. Austinites will see new businesses open in Rock Rose over the coming months, including the Rose Room dance club, Sway, and Salvation Pizza.
Rock Rose in the Domain brings the entertainment and excitement of downtown Austin to the North Austin suburbs.
