No matter where you go in Austin, there always seems to be a new neighborhood under construction. We wrote about Tecoma off Southwest Parkway a few days ago, and just discovered four more communities in the works:
5th and West Residences- Another skyscraper will grace the Austin skyline when the 5th and West Residences tower debuts in the fall of 2017. This 39 story tower will be the 5th tallest building in Austin when it is complete. About 154 luxury condos will make up the 5th and West Residences, with starting prices in the $500s. Some of the luxury amenities at the 5th and West Residences include a pool, dog park, fitness center and an indoor lounge with a coffee bar. The 5th and West Residences are also conveniently located within walking distance of landmarks like Whole Foods, Hut’s Hamburgers and Sixth Street.
Solavera- Designed by Meritage Homes, Solavera is a small community that will feature 15 upscale homes off of Del Curto Road in South Austin, a few blocks away from South Lamar Boulevard. More and more builders like Mertiage Homes have chosen to purchase small portions of land in popular areas of Austin and build new neighborhoods like Solavera to help meet the demand of buyers. In fact, there is so much interest in this community already that Meritage has chosen to hold a lottery for qualified buyers. Although prices haven’t been set for Solavera homes, they are estimated to be in the $600s.
Montebello- Builder Taylor Morrison already has several projects planned for the Austin area, but this 50 acre gated community is the latest on their list. Montebello will be located along Ranch Road 620 North, between Anderson Mill Road and Ranch Road 2222. This luxury condominium community will feature 140 detached units with upscale Mediterranean designs. The condos are estimated to range in size from 1,800 to 2,800 square feet. Montebello’s location is surrounded by the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve and zoned for Leander ISD. This community will also be close to several shopping centers along RR 620.
Scenic View- This gated community promises luxury living in the Westlake area. Located between Far Gallant Drive and Scenic View Drive, near Loop 360, Scenic View covers 75 acres. Those acres are divided into 19 lots that range from 1-5 acres in size. With architectural guidelines that include a minimum square footage of 4,000 square feet, all-masonry exteriors, and stone and iron fences, Scenic View homes will offer private upscale living close to town. Local residents could begin to see construction in Scenic View as early as 2015.
