Map of Onion Creek Neighborhood Austin
One of Austin’s most popular communities, Onion Creek, will be the site of a new section of homes in 2014. American Housing Ventures, a new company to the Austin real estate scene, recently purchased 115 acres of land east of the established Onion Creek neighborhood on Bradshaw Road. American Housing Ventures plans to build 287 homes on this property and reserve 20-30 acres for open green space. This new section is to be named Legends at Onion Creek. This section will be the latest addition to the approximate 1,200 total homes in Onion Creek. As part of the Onion Creek community, residents can take advantage of the neighborhood parks, homeowner’s association and other amenities, including the historic Onion Creek Golf Club. Residents will also enjoy convenient access to Interstate 35, Highway 130/45 and retail centers like Southpark Meadows.
Although American Housing Ventures is a young company, partners Mark Wolf and Spencer Rinker have had years of experience in real estate and development. Most of their work has been focused in Southern California, but several of the companies they have worked with in the past have had a presence in Austin. American Housing Ventures is also planning to develop a 74 acre rental community named Hornsby Glen on FM 973 near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Highway 130/45. Hornsby Glen will feature 365 single-family homes available for rent and include a clubhouse with pool, two acre park and walking trails.
Legends at Onion Creek will also be the first community in the Austin area to feature designs from The New House. This unique home building process developed by builder RSI results in high quality, energy-efficient homes with modern designs and features. The New House has previously been built only in California. While designs and floor plans have not been revealed for Legends at Onion Creek, American Housing Ventures has announced that homes will range from 1,930 to 3,100 square feet in size. As for pricing, the actual numbers have not been released, but homes here are expected to be priced for first-time buyers. Austinites can expect to see development beginning around March or April of 2014. In the meantime, check out our Legends at Onion Creek neighborhood profile for more information about the community.
