July 2015 Austin Area Market Statistics

According to the latest numbers from Austin Board of Realtors, Austin real estate is hotter than ever! Home sales in Austin hit an all-time high this July with 3,149 homes sold. That’s a 12% increase since last year! July was a month of increases across the board for Austin real estate. For the second month in a row, total dollar sales volume passed the $1 billion mark, which is a 19% increase since 2014. Austin home prices also rose 8% to a median price of $269,500. Growing numbers of new and active listings put available inventory in the Austin area at 3 months, which is the highest we’ve seen since last year.   • 12% increase in single-family homes sold in July 2015 to 3,149 homes
  • $269,500 median price of a single-family home in July 2015, or 8% more than July 2014
  • Homes spent 41 days on the market on average, which is 2 days more than July 2014
  • No change in available months of inventory in July 2015 at 3 months
  • 7,174 active listings in July 2015, which is a 5% increase over July 2014
  • 6,701 active listings in July 2015, which is a 4% increase from July 2014
  • 4,133 new listings in July 2015, or 9% more than July 2014
  • 8% increase in pending sales from July 2014 to 2,873 listings in July 2015
  • 19% increase in total dollar sales volume in July 2015 to $1,065,785,348
