Back in November 2013, we wrote about a brand new town center coming to Lakeway. Since that time, the development of the Lakeway town center, named the Oaks at Lakeway, has really taken off. As you drive along RR 620, it’s hard to miss the construction between Lohman’s Crossing Road and Lakeway Boulevard. This project, developed by Stratus Properties, will be a new retail, entertainment and dining hub for the city of Lakeway when complete.
The Oaks at Lakeway covers 175,000 square feet, anchored by a large HEB grocery store. The HEB is scheduled to open in October of this year and will measure 90,000 square feet in size. While construction has already begun on the HEB, still more is planned for the entertainment, retail and restaurant spaces. A high-end bowling alley is also planned for the Oaks at Lakeway. The bowling alley will feature lanes and an arcade on the first floor, with an upscale bar area on the second floor, overlooking the alley below. Future plans for the Oaks at Lakeway also include a three-story office building, playscapes, a pond and even a food trailer park. Whether you prefer to walk, bike, drive or take a golf cart to visit the Oaks at Lakeway, there will be appropriate lanes and sidewalks to accommodate all modes of transportation.
This is not the first project developed by Stratus Properties in the Austin area. Stratus is responsible for some of Austin’s most high-end neighborhoods, including Barton Creek, Lantana and Circle C Ranch. Lakeway residents can rest assured that the Oaks at Lakeway will feature the same attention to detail and high-end designs as these communities.
