TGIF and not a moment too soon. To make your weekend a little more exciting, Reilly Realtors has given you our top picks for things to do in Austin this weekend. Restaurant pick for the weekend: Bess Bistro on Pecan. Bess Bistro combines beautiful aesthetics, delicious food and excellent prices. From the moment you step down (literally) into the underground restaurant, you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time to a French diner from decades ago. The wait staff is friendly and helpful and the accented lighting makes for a romantic evening or a nice night out on the town. This is a unique choice for those who enjoy finding a good meal that is unlike anything else. Our entrée of choice: the Bess’ Southern Chicken. Music/Night club pick of the weekend: Elephant Room Going along with our theme of Austin places that are literally underground is the Elephant Room. If you’ve never taken the time to enjoy this Austin classic you have been missing out. This is the way a Jazz club is meant to be. Fantastic artists and an audience who really enjoys the music. The Elephant Room features a variety of local artists, each with their own unique jazz sound. This weekend, Beto and the Fairlanes and The Brew will be taking the stage. Fair warning: this is not the cleanest club in the world so those who need to be excessively clean or are afraid of public restrooms should steer clear. Sports Pick of the weekend: Round Rock Express Final Home Game of the Season You know you’ve wanted to see them this season but you haven’t taken the time to drive out to the Dell Diamond. Well now’s you last chance for the 2012 season. The Round Rock Express will be playing their final home game this Sunday before their final games on the road. It’s a great way to end the summer before school starts- not to mention there will be an excellent fireworks display to mark the end of the season. So grab your glove, the family and a hot dog and we’ll see you there! Keep Austin Weird Pick: Bat Fest On Saturday August 25 from 4:00 pm until 12:00 pm the Austin Bat Fest will be commemorating an Austin classic, the flying bats of the Congress Avenue Bridge. But this isn’t just any night on the bridge to see that bats. Bat Fest features food, drinks, activities, live music and more. Not to mention: free admission. Remember to come early. Parking can be hard to find and although the bats are unpredictable they normally begin their night flight around 7:00 pm. There you have it! Whether you’re an Austin local or not, those are your top picks for the weekend. Stay tuned for more exciting things to do in Austin, TX. And stay tuned for great Austin real estate deals from Reilly Realtors!
