One of the most exciting ways to celebrate Independence Day is watching fireworks light up the sky. From Kyle to Georgetown, residents will have plenty of opportunities to catch a dazzling fireworks display this July 4th; you may be able to see some right from your own backyard! In addition to fireworks, many Austin area celebrations will offer carnival games, food, live music, and parades to celebrate the 4th of July. While most of the events on our list are hosted on Wednesday, July 4th, a few will start the celebrations early on Tuesday, July 3rd.

HEB Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks - Celebrate Independence Day at Austin's longest-running fireworks show! Over 100,000 Austinites turn out for this FREE event every year, so be sure to arrive early to claim your spot on the grass at Vic Mathias Shores (the east lawn of Auditorium Shores). The Austin Symphony Orchestra kicks off the event with patriotic melodies at 8:30 pm, followed by sparkling fireworks over Lady Bird Lake.
Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Celebration - Visit the Hill Country Galleria on the 4th of July for a dazzling fireworks display. The event is FREE and begins at 4pm with backyard games on the lawn and live music starting at 6pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to claim a spot on the grassy lawn for prime viewing of the fireworks at around 9:15 pm. Grab dinner beforehand at one of the Galleria's many restaurants or browse the shops hosting sidewalk sales throughout the day!
Wells Branch 4th Fest - The Wells Branch neighborhood is well known for its annual 4th of July celebrations. Hosted at Katherine Fleischer Park, the day begins with a parade at 10 am, followed by a FREE festival complete with games, crafts, live music, kiddy train, dunk tank, and face painting. The park's pool will also be open for locals to cool off during the day. The exciting day concludes with a fireworks show at 9:30 pm.
Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic - Join country music legend Willie Nelson at the Austin 360 Amphitheater for an all-day concert. The lineup includes Sturgill Simpson, The Head and The Heart, Ryan Bingham, and Margo Price, just to name a few. The gates open at 11 am, and the night concludes with a fireworks display.
Red, White, and Buda - Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Buda. The festivities kick off with a children's parade on Main Street at 8:30 am. Decorate your stroller, wagon, or bikes for a chance to win a prize. The party continues in the evening with live music and activities. The fireworks display will light up the night sky after dark.
4th of July Parade and Celebration - Start the 4th of July off with a parade at 10 am down Discovery Boulevard in Cedar Park. The celebration continues at Milburn Park at 5 pm with live music, bingo, washers tournament, concessions, and carnival rides. The event is FREE and concludes with a dazzling fireworks show after dark.
Fire in the Sky - Watch fireworks create a "fire in the sky" over Dripping Springs! The gates of Dripping Springs Ranch Park open at 5 pm with food vendors, a petting zoo, train rides and other fun activities. Enjoy the fireworks display starting around 9:15 pm. The event is free, but donations are encouraged to benefit North Hays County Fire and Rescue.
SERTOMA 4th of July - Georgetown's SERTOMA club is hosting a fun-filled 4th of July celebration at San Gabriel Park. Thousands of locals attend this event each year, which begins at 11 am with tons of craft and food vendors, kiddie rides, a petting zoo, and games. Live music and a parade are some of the highlights of the celebration. At around 9:30 pm, a dazzling fireworks display will light up the sky over the San Gabriel River.
Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show - Join your fellow Kyle citizens at the Plum Creek Golf Course for a fun fireworks show. Start the day off with a golf tournament at the course starting around noon. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase from 6 - 9 pm, followed by the fireworks display. The Hays CISD Performing Arts Center will also provide free music entertainment before the show and offers a great view of the fireworks. If you can't make it out to one of these locations, just find a spot around the city within sight of the water tower for the best view of the fireworks.
Lago Vista 4th of July - Start the day off near Lake Travis with a parade through Lago Vista at 10 am, followed by tons of fun festivities at Bar K Park. Enjoy food trucks, patriotic music, face painting, and more, followed by fireworks at dark!
July 4th Celebration - The City of Lakeway 4th of July celebration is not to be missed! The day kicks off with a parade at 8:30 am, followed by an awards ceremony and pageant of the flags. The Lakeway Swim Center will be open from noon to 8 pm for a fun day of water activities. Admission to the pool is $3 per person. While there won't be any fireworks on display, you can still watch several fireworks shows all around Lake Travis.
Volente Beach Fireworks Show - Celebrate Independence Day one day early on Monday, July 3rd, at the Volente Beach Waterpark on Lake Travis. The event is open to the public, but early reservations are encouraged for the best view of the fireworks over Lake Travis. Spend a day at the waterpark and stay late to catch the fireworks show, or join the party at 8 pm. Entrance to the fireworks show is $8 per person.
Liberty Fest - Join Leander residents for Liberty Fest from 3 - 10 pm. Located on the grounds between San Gabriel Parkway and Hero Way, just west of Highway 183, enjoy a fun-filled day of games, crafts, and food vendors. Texas artists Casey Donahew and Stoney Larue will headline the event. A professional fireworks show will light up the sky at around 9 pm.
Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival - Have tons of "pfun" with Pflugerville residents at this 4th of July celebration. Hosted at the Pflugerville High School Stadium, the event kicks off at 5 pm. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and activities for the whole family to enjoy. The fireworks show lights up at around 9:15 pm. The event is free for everyone. Residents can also visit Lake Pflugerville for swimming and other activities during regular park hours.
Frontier Days Celebration - Round Rock's Independence Day celebration is jam-packed with exciting events. Start the day off with a parade through downtown Round Rock at 10 am, followed by the festival at noon at Old Settlers Park. Exciting events include pig races, stunt performances, rubber duck race, pepper eating contest, and skydivers. Take in the dazzling fireworks starting after dark, and stay for a family-friendly movie in the park.
