What defines Northwest Travis County more than anything else is water. Lake Austin and Lake Travis, both part of the Colorado River system, run through this expansive Austin region. Most of the area is outside the Austin city limits with the cities of Bee Cave and Lakeway south of the river, and the cities of Lago Vista and Jonestown to the north. The area, thanks to the lakes, beautiful hill country, and proximity to Austin, is booming with growth. The Hill Country Galleria currently under construction in the Lakeway / Bee Cave area is a sign of this growth, as are the new homes popping up on both the north and south sides of Lake Travis. Points of interest in the area include the Mansfield Dam, sunsets at The Oasis Restaurant and Bar, Hudson's on the Bend, Hamilton Pool, the Lakeway Swim Center, and the Balcones Canyonlands Wildlife Refuge (Lago Vista).

Northwest Travis County Neighborhoods
