Dripping Springs Neighborhoods
If quiet hill country living is what you're after, a Dripping Springs home may be for you. The Dripping Springs / Wimberley region is on the western side of Hays County and includes the cities of Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Henley, and the Village of Bear Creek. Both cities that make up this region's name are located southwest of Austin and are sweet rural communities with easy attitudes and beautiful scenery. Dripping Springs is about 30 minutes from Austin on Highway 290 West, and has seen significant development in recent years. A new HEB, Home Depot, and the new Rooster Springs elementary school in the well regarded Dripping Springs ISD have sprung up to support the many new home owners in the area. Belterra, Highpointe, Ledge Stone, and Sawyer Ranch are new master planned communities with a suburban feel and great amenities. Those interested in older Dripping Springs neighborhoods will find they consist of rural ranch properties and homes on acre+ lots. If you are out seeing Dripping Springs homes, stop by the Railroad Bar-b-que for a great meal, visit Cowgirls and Lace (a home furnishings and fabric store) to see for yourself why the place has a loyal Austin following, or finish the day off at Nutty Brown Cafe with a little live music.
