If quiet hill country living is what you're after, a Dripping Springs home may be for you. The Dripping Springs area is on the western side of Hays County, southwest of Austin. Dripping Springs is a sweet rural community with an easy attitude and beautiful scenery. About 30 minutes from Austin on Highway 290 West, Dripping Springs has seen significant development in recent years. A new HEB, Home Depot, and the new Rooster Springs elementary school in the well regarded Dripping Springs ISD have sprung up to support the many new home owners in the area. Belterra, Highpointe, Ledge Stone, and Sawyer Ranch are new master planned communities with a suburban feel and great amenities. Although not officially in the Dripping Springs city limits, these four communities are on the edge of Austin, just minutes from Dripping Springs' town center. Those interested in older Dripping Springs neighborhoods will find they consist of rural ranch properties and homes on acre+ lots. If you're out touring Dripping Springs homes, stop by the Railroad Bar-b-que for a great meal, visit Cowgirls and Lace (a home furnishings and fabric store) to see for yourself why the place has a loyal Austin following, try out the new Trudy's Tex-Mex, or finish the day off at the Nutty Brown Cafe with a little live music.
